Youth Groups

Are you:

An agent arranging UK inbound language travel for groups of any age?

A teacher organising a school or social group visit to or in the UK?

We create bespoke courses for our customers bringing a school or social group to the UK for a short break up to 7 nights, or arranging a 1 or 2 week language holiday with lessons and activities.

What you can expect from Homestay

We create bespoke courses by combining elements from the following, according to your requirements:

  • Homestay Accommodation

  • Lessons taught by teachers, experienced in teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages

  • Social, sport or cultural activities in Weymouth and Portland, and the wider Dorset area

  • Airport transfers

Our combined experience of 40 years in the inbound language travel industry in Weymouth and Portland, and the reputation we have developed among the local Homestay community means you can be assured of a quality product.

Our Homestay Accommodation

Visiting groups of international young learners stay within the welcoming atmosphere of a Homestay Host, giving them the opportunity to learn English in an informal environment.

All our Hosts are carefully checked in accordance with British Council Standards and many of them have hosted visitors of all ages for several years.

Most of our young learners stay in pairs, but we can also place as singles or in groups of 3-4.

Our Hosts can provide any combination of breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal, depending on your requirements.

Supplementary special diets are also available on request and for a small fee.

Representatives of Homestay and Venture Breaks meet and greet the group on arrival, arrange for all the Homestay Hosts to be available to meet their young people, and ensure the smooth transfer from coach to Homestays.

We are always available to advise, and resolve any difficulties that arise.

Many long-term friendships are forged between Hosts and visitors.

It is not unusual for young learners to return to their "English family” for a number of years, or for hosts to be invited to visit the learner’s family overseas.

Our Lessons

Our lessons focus on speaking and listening to enable the young learners to gain the most from being surrounded by native speakers. They can also put their knowledge of the English Language into context.  All our teachers are qualified to teach English for Speakers of Other Languages and, like our Hosts, many of them have been part of our team for several years.

We deliver our lessons at a Sea Cadet centre close to Weymouth Town Centre, overlooking Weymouth harbour. The centre is located on three sides of a car park.  The old section of the building has modernised classrooms, while the newer section has purpose-built classrooms, a canteen and sports hall with climbing wall.

In the event that a group has requirements that would be best served by a different venue, we can negotiate with other facilities.
